Walk into Splintered Sunlight...

Postby BobC » Mon Jun 01, 2009 9:44 pm

What a great thread!

I do believe there is one person who must be mentioned here, and that is Jackie.

Jackie gets out there and dances as if no one is watching. You would think with her limitations, she would shy away from front and center. But that is far from the case.

It just goes to show what a loving and free spirit she is. Thank you all for the acceptance and encouragement you show her, at every show we attend, wherever we go.

Keep on dancing Jackie.
Best kid ever.

You mean people ARE watching....? *damn!*

I say keep Jackie front & center; that-a-way we can make sure she's got the room to groove without some unknown careening into her. (Known people bouncing into her is just fine <grin>)

Besides, ever see the beautiful smile she flashes as the music builds and washes over her? Prime benefit for the protective circle...

You got that right Bob C. :!: Love Jackie C. :!:
There is a road, no simple highway,
between the dawn and the dark of night.
And if you go, no one may follow.
That path is for your steps alone.

Thanks everyone, and especially Dad, for bringing this up!

I would like to say that Joy is SO right. One of the reasons I stay so close to Dad and the front is because I'm afraid of going unseen, thus being knocked over. I'm proud to say that I have not fallen or been pushed while with Splintered to this date. Another reason I stay up close and personal is due to my height. If even one person stands in front of me I might miss Butchy jammin' or Anders making a cool face (and to me, that is all part of the experience).

Best of all, when I am in the front, surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones, I feel like there is a soft cushion around me; therefore nothing bad can happen. So, to all of you, I say THANK YOU. It means a lot and gives me peace of mind while enjoying SS. Although I may not express this often, it really does mean a whole lot.

And while we're on a thread about dancing, I constantly look around and feed off the vibes that each (unique) dancer sends out. This too makes for an awesome experience!

So thanks friends & family! LOVE YOU!
I'm still walkin', so I'm sure that I can dance.

funny, I was looking for the new show dates and wondered....

**is this board still up anymore?!**

and, sho nuff, not only active, but the best thread ever (!) here to greet me

loved rereading it and smiling from great Brownie memories and getting so good warm fuzzies on this dreary afternoon about the Dance, and sharing it with all you freaks ~

it's been FIVE years since that fateful summer I ventured into the best best best li'l bar/venue for, by far and away, my most fave local band, and wow has life changed, but never, EVER, my love for this music, Butchy & the Boys, and the vibe and scene of the great good folk of Splintered Family & Fandom

thank you all for a real good time
